Catalyxx Announces the Launch of its First Industrial-Scale Project
23 de September de 2024Catalyxx Secures $5.8 Million Series A Equity Round Led by Beka Finance to Advance Green Chemistry Technology
7 de November de 2024Chesterfield, MO – Catalyxx is excited to announce that it has been awarded funding by the Indiana Corn Marketing Council (ICMC) to further develop its GrenOl project.
Over the past several years, ICMC, the state’s corn checkoff program, has supported the ongoing development of GrenOl, Catalyxx’s new bio-based renewable fuel. This new phase of funding will enable Catalyxx to focus on testing the impacts of GrenOl on gasoline combustion and diesel particulate filter operation.
Catalyxx’s proprietary technology converts ethanol into a mix of higher alcohols (GrenOl), with a focus on producing bio-based n-butanol, n-hexanol, n-octanol and n-decanol, high-demand intermediate chemicals for the downstream chemical industry. Catalyxx is testing the mix of these higher alcohols or GrenOl as an enhanced blending agent in both diesel and gasoline, assessing the environmental benefits of GrenOl blends, and determining engine parameter modifications to maximize these benefits.
Catalyxx CEO, Joaquin Alarcon, stated: “We deeply appreciate the Indiana Corn Marketing Council’s ongoing support of our technology. This next phase of research will enable us to further demonstrate GrenOl’s potential as a sustainable and innovative solution in the fuel industry, contributing to reduced emissions. These efforts are aligned with our mission to develop bio-based products that support a greener future and to create value for Indiana corn farmers.”
